The same pharmacy team every time

You reach our pharmacy team directly, not a call center queue three states away. They learn your residents, your nurses and your workflow.

Local routes, same-day arrival

We run delivery routes out of Traverse City and Kalamazoo, so orders arrive the same day rather than on a regional hub's schedule.

Faster STAT turnaround

New admissions and STAT orders don't wait. Having a local pharmacy partner ensures STATs arrive in a timely manner.

Locally owned,

Aurora Long Term Care Pharmacy opened in 2021 with a team whose experience in long term care goes back more than a decade. We fill for skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, rehabilitation centers, memory care, group homes and sleep-away camps, from twelve beds to two hundred.

We care for the resident in the bed and the staff at the med cart in equal measure. Most of what we build, from packaging choices to eMAR integration, exists to take work off your nurses.

What we handle for your building

"With the challenges we face on a daily basis, having a pharmacy partner with outstanding communication is a must. The entire Aurora Team has been so responsive and helpful compared to the previous service level we received."

Switching pharmacies without adding work for your staff

The switch is our project to manage. Your team keeps passing meds while we handle profiles, packaging setup and the integration behind the scenes.

We look at your current process, your cart, your eMAR and your pain points. We turn what we found in your building into a written plan: packaging formats, delivery timing, eMAR setup. Resident profiles, packaging preferences and eMAR connection are built and verified before day one. A pharmacist and technician are on site for the first cycle fill, plus in-services for your staff.
Adherence packaging
Packaging built

The right format depends on your building. We set it up to match how your nurses work, and we'll adjust it if it isn't fitting.

Format 01

Multi-dose strip pouches

One sealed pouch per resident, per pass time. The nurse tears, checks the printed label and passes. No popping ten cards for one resident.

Aurora-labeled unit-dose pouches
Unit-dose blister cards
Format 02

Punch cards and blister packs

Thirty-day cards for buildings that count by card. Cycle filled on your schedule, labeled to your eMAR's naming.

Format 03

Everything that doesn't fit a card

Cold chain handled, dated and labeled, delivered on demand. Bulk items labeled per resident so they don't wander between rooms. Counted, documented and signed at delivery, with a paper trail your surveyor can follow.
Format 04

STAT orders, first doses and the electronic backup box

New admissions and STAT orders don't wait. First doses come out of your electronic backup box while the fill is on the road, and we restock and reconcile the box for you rather than leaving it to a nurse at shift change.

Taking pharmacy work

What Aurora does for skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care, rehabilitation and group homes across Michigan.

Pharmacy operations

Cycle fill on your schedule, unit-dose or card packaging, med cart setup, and routine cart checks documented for survey. Short-cycle and Part D requirements handled on our side.

eMAR and EHR integration

We connect to PointClickCare, ECP, Eldermark, ALIS, Yardi and QuickMAR. Orders, changes and refills flow into your chart instead of onto a fax queue.

Delivery and after hours

Same-day and emergency runs on routes we manage, and a pharmacist reachable 24/7. Electronic backup box restocked and reconciled by us.

Staff support and in-services

In-services on site, on your schedule, at no charge. New-nurse orientation to our packaging and ordering, plus flu and immunization clinics for residents and staff.

Billing and coverage

Part D, Medicaid and private pay billed correctly the first time. Families can pay online, and our staff takes the call when a statement is questioned.

Consultant pharmacy

Monthly chart reviews, facility specific reporting, and a consultant pharmacist who attends your meetings. See consultant services.

Chart review is the minimum. The value is in the reporting your DON can act on and a pharmacist in the room when your committees meet.

Every resident reviewed on schedule, with recommendations written so a physician can sign or decline without a phone call. Reports built around your building and your metrics, not a generic template, so trends are visible before a surveyor finds them. Our pharmacists attend your meetings, including QAPI and behavioral management, and come prepared with your data. In-services for your nurses and aides on site, on your schedule, at no charge to the building. Documentation, med storage checks and cart audits reviewed ahead of survey, not after a citation. Dose reductions tracked and documented to support your behavioral management program.
Consulting is a service, not a report you file. The recommendations should be worth reading.
